After year 10, Jode attended Tullawong State High School in the Morton Bay Area for year 11, but was only there a few months and then moved to Kilcoy State High School to be closer to his friends again.Īfter School in 2007, Jode left home to go and live in Brisbane after being accepted into JMC Academy for music. On the last day of year 10, Jode was expelled from school after throwing a water bomb at the crutch of his music teacher, Mr hart. Jode and Mr Hart didn't see eye to eye from the start, leading Jode to be sent to detention quite a lot. Later that year, music Teacher, Mr Thorpe retired from teaching at the school and a new music teacher, Mr Hart was brought in. A few months later, Jode wrote his first song and sang and played guitar at a school assembly to his teachers and peers. At age 13, Jode had just started high school, attending Woodford State School where his music teacher, Mr Thorpe took a great interest in Jode after he started playing David Bowie's Rebel Rebel on guitar in his first music lesson. He was raised in a musical family with his father Tony Gannon, lead guitarist of English punk band Pakov Liez whom toured with such bands as UK Subs, Angelic Upstarts, Urban Dogs, Knox from the Vibrators and Eddy and the Hot Rods, just to name a few.
